- Once again LOADSTAR's BASIC
- Philosopher and LOADSTAR's Lazy
- Libertine have pooled their talents
- to create a card solitaire game that
- has never before been played by human
- hands. It's similar to their ROTATO
- POKER (on LS #104) in that your goal
- is to get the highest possible score
- by arranging the cards into poker
- hands.
-
- If you don't know poker, you'll
- have a slight disadvantage, but if
- you don't know poker, you undoubtedly
- have run into a LOT of disadvantages
- already. From what I can tell, the
- whole U.S. Justice system is based
- upon the game of poker. But just in
- case, the hierarchy of poker hands is
- shown on the help screen. In fact,
- the complete rules for SLIDE POKER
- are explained on the help screen.
-
- I wrote this game over the course
- of three evenings. They were, of
- course, long evenings. However, I
- was able to dash off the program so
- quickly because Maurice's game shell
- is so easy to work with. If you are
- a pretty good BASIC programmer, you
- can take SLIDE POKER (or any of
- Maurice's solitaires) and strip out
- the lines that are specific for this
- program. You'll end up with a shell
- that is just waiting for you to add
- the fun part -- the card placement
- and rules for play.
