  7.     Once again LOADSTAR's BASIC
  8. Philosopher and LOADSTAR's Lazy
  9. Libertine have pooled their talents
  10. to create a card solitaire game that
  11. has never before been played by human
  12. hands. It's similar to their ROTATO
  13. POKER (on LS #104) in that your goal
  14. is to get the highest possible score
  15. by arranging the cards into poker
  16. hands.

  18.     If you don't know poker, you'll
  19. have a slight disadvantage, but if
  20. you don't know poker, you undoubtedly
  21. have run into a LOT of disadvantages
  22. already. From what I can tell, the
  23. whole U.S. Justice system is based
  24. upon the game of poker. But just in
  25. case, the hierarchy of poker hands is
  26. shown on the help screen. In fact,
  27. the complete rules for SLIDE POKER
  28. are explained on the help screen.

  30.     I wrote this game over the course
  31. of three evenings. They were, of
  32. course, long evenings. However, I
  33. was able to dash off the program so
  34. quickly because Maurice's game shell
  35. is so easy to work with. If you are
  36. a pretty good BASIC programmer, you
  37. can take SLIDE POKER (or any of
  38. Maurice's solitaires) and strip out
  39. the lines that are specific for this
  40. program. You'll end up with a shell
  41. that is just waiting for you to add
  42. the fun part -- the card placement
  43. and rules for play.
